New Samsung laptops are rumored to include OLED screens and support for S Pen

Samsung has a pair of new laptops in development – the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 – that include OLED screens and will be compatible with the company’s S Pen, SamMobile reports. The Galaxy Book Pro 360 is also available with 5G connectivity. Laptops were first revealed in a Bluetooth certification document that emerged last month.

SamMobile’s The report does not go into detail about the specifications of OLED displays, such as their resolution or refresh rates. However, given that laptops will be available with 13.3 and 15.6 inch screens, it seems unlikely that they will use 14 inch 90 Hz OLED screens that Samsung Display said would be mass-produced starting next month. .

These wouldn’t be the first Samsung laptops to support the S Pen (last year’s Galaxy Book Flex 5G, the company’s first 5G laptop, had an integrated one, for example), but that came after the company announced a new pair of S Pen stylus next to the Galaxy S21 Ultra. There is a standard S Pen that is sold separately from the phone and, later this year, it will be accompanied by the S Pen Pro, an updated version that adds Bluetooth and support for aerial gestures. Earlier this year, Samsung said it is planning to bring S Pen support to “additional device categories”.

In addition to its screens and S Pen support, it is rumored that the new Windows laptops will be equipped with Intel Core i5 and i7 CPUs. The Galaxy Pro 360 is thought to be a 2 in 1 convertible laptop, with a 360 hinge to allow your screen to be turned and used as a tablet.

If reports on upcoming devices are accurate, they would join a series of other laptops recently announced by Samsung. This includes the Galaxy Chromebook 2, an Intel Chromebook with QLED screen (essentially an LCD screen that uses Samsung’s quantum dot technology) and pen support, announced earlier this year.
