Alabama freshman guard Josh Primo left the SEC tournament game on Friday against the state of Mississippi after Iverson Molinar fell on his left leg. Primo cried out and needed help outside the court from sports trainer Clarke Holter of Crimson Tide and Tyler Barnes.
Coach Nate Oats told ESPN after the 85-48 victory that Primo was taken to neighboring Vanderbilt and then provided the latest freshman newsknee of in your post-game Zoom call.
“We still don’t know about Primo,” said Oats. “I hope he can play tomorrow, I hope it’s not too much. But let’s wait for that MRI and see. “
Toronto-born Primo started his 18th game of the season on Friday and scored eight points out of 3 out of 5 shots. He made a pair of three and pulled four rebounds before leaving the quarterfinal game against the Bulldogs and leaving Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
“At the beginning we were very concerned about what happened, although we still don’t know it,” said point guard John Petty of Primo after the game. “But we all know that he will be fine.
