Nashville family in search of their 90 kg dog who disappeared after a car accident

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) – As temperatures drop, a family is desperately looking for their dog.

Fergus is no ordinary dog. The 90-pound Irish wolfhound would be easy to locate anywhere, but it has been missing since the weekend.

Mickey McKay, his wife and Fergus were stopped at the intersection of Franklin Road and Tyne Boulevard on Saturday night when they went to the rear and the car windows broke. Fergus was ejected from the car and hit the road.

The video from the Dash camera shows Fergus limping from the accident towards Judson Baptist Church.

“We lost sight of him and have been looking for him ever since,” said owner McKay.

The family has had Fergus since he was 2 months old.

McKay and his wife have empty nests, but the joy of having Fergus filling the house.

“Fergus is a member of the family,” said McKay. “We caught him when he was a puppy and getting home last night was so peaceful without him.”

McKay says that Fergus is very friendly. If you see Fergus, approach him slowly, he may still be scared from the accident.

McKay and his wife suffered minor injuries from the accident, but said that all their energy was focused on finding Fergus.
