Representative Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, says he believes the immigration policies of the Biden government are “prioritizing illegal immigrants over American citizens”.
President Joe Biden said yesterday that the situation on the US border with Mexico is not a crisis and that his government “will be able to deal with it”. The comments came amid an Axios report citing DHS projections that 117,000 unaccompanied children are expected to cross the border in 2021.

What needs to happen immediately is that they need to reinstate protocols to protect migrants, which is the policy of ‘Staying in Mexico’. This single action by the Trump administration virtually eliminated illegal crossings.

This creates a disincentive to just cross over, because they know they will be sent back to Mexico. When you just say, ‘Hey, if you cross, well, we’ll just give you a bus ticket anywhere you want, no matter what kind of COVID you have, it really doesn’t matter’, of course, there’s a huge incentive for thousands and thousands of people to cross paths and drag children with them.
Here’s the worst part of it. This encourages trafficking in children. I often speak to many border agents. They see these children simply recycled over and over again, because these adults know that all they need is a child with them. “
