Motorola’s Edge s arrives with Snapdragon 870, 90 Hz screen, 3.5 mm connector and an attractive price

The device is supported by the new Qualcomm device Snapdragon 870 chipset, which is a slightly more powerful version of last year’s Snapdragon 865 Plus. The basic variant offers 6 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB of UFS3.1 storage. The phone is Ready for 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 are also supported.

The Motorola edge features a 6.7-inch LCD screen with 1080 × 2520 resolution, 90 Hz refresh rate and 21: 9 aspect ratio.

The rear camera configuration has a 64 MP primary sniper with an f / 1.7 aperture, a 16 MP ultra-wide angle unit, a 2 MP depth module and a flight time sensor (ToF). The system also has a ring of light that automatically turns on to eliminate shadows. The phone supports 6K video recording and also has an audio zoom function that tracks the sound subject in real time to emphasize it over other noises.

The front camera array has a 16 MP ultra wide angle unit and an 8 MP snapper. It also incorporates proprietary heart rate monitoring technology. It reports your statistics when scanning facial blood vessels and takes just 15 seconds to complete the process.

Keeping the lights on is a robust 5,000 mAh battery with a 20W charge. The device also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port and a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and runs Android 11.

Motorola’s Edge s is available in shades of emerald and white. The price starts at 1,999 Chinese Yuan (~ $ 309). The 8GB / 128GB model costs 2,399 Yuan (~ $ 371), and the more sophisticated variant (8 / 256GB) costs 2,799 Yuan (~ $ 432). Pre-orders have already started in China and the phone will hit the shelves on February 3rd.
No word on the international launch yet, but if a recent report is published, the phone will be launched as the Motorola G100 in markets outside of China before the end of this quarter.
