(WOWT) – Below are today’s vaccination updates, as well as data reports on new cases and other COVID-19 statistics reported by health officials in Nebraska and Iowa.

70 years or more in Douglas County to register for the vaccine

The Douglas County Health Department has announced that people over 70 can start registering for the COVID-19 vaccine starting at 9:00 am on Tuesday.

To apply, go to the Douglas County Department of Health website and click on the link in the big yellow box that says “COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment Sign Up.” Those in need of telephone assistance can call the DCHD COVID-19 Information Line at 402-444-3400.

More residents of Sarpy County, Cass eligible for vaccine on Tuesday

Sarpy and Cass County residents who were born in 1951 or earlier (70 years of age or older) will be able to schedule a COVID-19 vaccination appointment from Tuesday, February 16.

A notification will be sent to registrants for updates through the county health department or Nebraska statewide pre-registration survey, according to a health district statement.

Vaccines will only be available by appointment.

Those with doubts should call 402-339-4334 and select option 1. This phone line will be open from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

To date, the Sarpy / Cass Department of Health has reported 112 deaths from COVID-19. According to its panel COVID-19, the health district is reporting 670 active cases and a positivity rate of 24.4% on Saturday. The SCHD confirmed 21,305 cases of COVID-19, with 20,523 recovered, since the beginning of the pandemic.

Douglas County reports positivity rate of 20.7%, more cases

The Douglas County Health Department has reported 315 new cases since Friday. Daily number updates are no longer being released on weekends. The total number of cases in the county since the pandemic began has now reached 62,745.

The 7-day continuous average of reported cases is 108.

A positivity rate of 20.7% was reported for the week ending on Saturday. The positivity rate for the previous week was reported at 20.6%.

No new deaths were reported. The total number of deaths remains at 636.

Vaccination clinics

Douglas County

Until further notice, Douglas County clinics will provide COVID-19 vaccines to eligible residents at the following times and locations:

  • TER / QUA – Church of the Community of Christ, located at 404 S. 108th St., clinics will provide vaccines from 9 am to 5 pm
  • WED / SEX – CHI Immanuel Medical Center, located at 72nd Street and Sorensen Parkway, vaccination will be given from 9 am to 5 pm
  • THU / SUN – Nebraska Medical Test and Vaccination Clinic, located at 144th Street and Millard Avenue, vaccination will be given from 9 am to 5 pm on Thursdays and from 9 am to 3 pm on Sundays.
  • Creighton University Rasmussen Center, located at 702 N. 17th St., vaccinations will be administered from 9 am to 5 pm

Pottawattamie County

COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be held on Friday, February 12, 19 and 26 at the Mid-America Center.

County residents aged 65 and over must register on the Pottawattamie County vaccination website. Those who need help can also call the Aging Connections Area Agency at 712-328-2540 to sign up for an appointment over the phone.
