‘Modern Family’ star Aubrey Anderson-Emmons is a TikTok star

If you watched an episode of “Modern Family”, you will probably recognize one of the newest social media sensations.

Aubrey Anderson-Emmons first won the hearts of sitcom fans in the role of Lily, Mitchell and Cameron’s adopted daughter. After wrapping up the show last year, the young actor has now taken his theatrical skills to a whole new platform: TikTok.

The 13-year-old has been on the social media app for quite some time and her videos typically average 20-50,000 views, but her number of followers has recently skyrocketed from 60,000-200,000 + in a matter of days.

The teenager’s page has gone viral quickly in the past few weeks and social media users have found that she has some rather cruel voice acting and dancing skills. Case in point? In mid-January, more than 150,000 TikTok users saw their silent version of Doja Cat’s song “Streets”.

A few days later, the actor posted a video of her voicing and dancing with friends, and the video got over 320,000 views.

Of course, seeing your page suddenly get so much attention has been a surreal experience for the teenager.

“I didn’t expect anything because I have been on TikTok since 2019,” she told TMRW by phone. “But then I woke up a few days ago and saw that one of my videos exploded and it was crazy.”

Several of the 13-year-old girl’s recent videos have been viewed more than a million times, like this one in which she mumbles the words “How you feel is not my problem” from Willow Smith’s song “Female Energy”.

Another short clip of the teenager voicing and dancing in a floral dress caught the attention of 5.7 million social media users and is on the rise.

When asked how she decides which songs to feature in her videos, Anderson-Emmons said she is usually inspired by TikTok’s “For You” page. She also seems to have a very eclectic taste in music and said she has enjoyed everything from Kanye West to the Beatles lately.

“I hear a little bit of everything,” she told TMRW.

The talented teenager said she has loved music for as long as she can remember and gives credit to her mother, who studied music at college, for inspiring her passion.

“I listen to music all the time. I’ll be in the shower and probably sing some music,” she said.

The actor lists dancing as one of his favorite hobbies and said that filming his videos gave her the opportunity to practice her movements. Most of the videos are only a few seconds long, but Anderson-Emmons admitted that it may take a while for his choreography to be perfect.

“It depends on the music. I’m a perfectionist,” she said. “It can take a day to learn to dance. Many of them are super difficult.”

Amy Anderson made her daughter wait a while to get a TikTok account and said she follows the page closely and monitors it daily. Still, the proud mother said the teenager has a very good judgment for his age.

“She is a good girl and she is a smart girl and she is just there to have fun. She understands that when you launch something, the whole world will see it, ”she told TMRW. “It’s a fun way for her to have a creative outlet and I think it’s really cool that it encourages her to dance.”
