COLOMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA – The Missouri Tigers kept the best team in the country at first, but lost momentum in the second half, dropping to 1/3 of South Carolina on Thursday, 77-62.
Former Gamecock and current Tiger Ladazhia Williams helped Mizzou get off to a good start. She scored six points in the first quarter, helping Missouri’s lead 20-16.
In the second quarter, Shug Dickson, from Missouri, got 10 of the 16 points from Missouri. The game ended in a 36-36 draw, with Mizzou continuing to play.
South Carolina gained an advantage in the third quarter. Missouri’s Haley Troup narrowed the gap to single digits by hitting a shot at the doorbell, but the Tigers still lost by 8 after three quarters.
The Gamecocks moved away, beating Tigers by 42-16 in the second half and winning by 77-62.

This was South Carolina’s 30th consecutive victory over an SEC opponent, improving to 11-0 in the SEC game this season.
Missouri is now 7-8 overall and 3-7 at the conference. The team is 3-8 in all-time clashes with South Carolina, and 0-5 in Columbia East.
The Tigers will be looking forward to a fight against Georgia at the Mizzou Arena on Sunday.
