Missouri Senator Josh Hawley’s wife files a criminal complaint for protesting in front of the couple’s home

(KY3) – Erin Hawley, wife of Missouri American Senator Josh Hawley, filed a criminal complaint against a protest organizer outside the couple’s home in Virginia last month, reports ABC News.

According to ABC News, the individual was charged with a misdemeanor for manifesting himself illegally, but was not charged with making threats or vandalism, as alleged in the criminal complaint.

Hawley’s office told ABC News that the complaint was filed in a court in Fairfax County, Virginia. Under Virginia state law, any citizen can file a criminal complaint and seek a subpoena, although a local magistrate must find enough “probable cause” to issue one.

Hawley was the first United States senator to announce his intention to challenge the electoral results certified by the Electoral College. He opposed the results of the elections in Arizona and Pennsylvania on the night of January 6, a challenge that continued after a riot at the US Capitol while Congress was working to certify the votes.

Although the objections did not change the results for any of the states, they delayed the certification of Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election.

Senator Hawley recently discussed the Capitol riot and other topics in an individual interview with KY3 News.
