“I’m already doing these things. I want to see something that is real.”
From “Stranger Things” to “Godzilla vs. Kong ”this year, you can say that Millie Bobby Brown is the queen of the franchises. But it turns out that the 17-year-old actor has never seen a film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in the extended DC Universe or even in the world of Harry Potter.
Speaking to MTV! News (via NME), Brown admitted: “I’ve never watched a Marvel movie. I’ve never seen a DC movie. But I am open to that. ”She said she preferred to watch something like“ The Notebook ”when she wasn’t working.
“I’m not crazy about [Marvel or DC], because I’m doing this. I’m already doing this. I want to see something that is real, ”said Brown. She also confessed that she had never seen a Harry Potter film. “I have so many friends who just look at me and say, ‘How?’ ‘I do not know.'”
On the TV side, Brown also said that while she never watched “The Office”, she saw “all episodes” of “Friends”.
Although Brown does not prefer to watch franchise films, she said she feels very much in line with this universe as an actor. “I never played a character and that’s it, we don’t revisit it again. I’m signed up for a few more things, which is exciting, because I know it will be a unique thing. I like playing a character, having a year off, revisiting a character. This shows the growth of the character. “
In fact, Brown has already played Madison Russell in “Godzilla vs. Kong” (now in theaters and on HBO Max) and in “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” in 2019. In addition, she played the telepathic and psychokinetic Eleven in the popular saga Netflix’s science fiction “Stranger Things” for four seasons and a fifth season is expected, although it has not yet been confirmed by Netflix. Any work in an upcoming edition was halted due to the pandemic more than a year ago.
Still, Millie Bobby Brown enjoyed a year on the streaming platform with the release of the mystery movie for young adults “Enola Holmes” in September 2020. Netflix also did not confirm a subsequent film for that, but Brown acknowledged that she and director Harry Bradbeer is in talks about the next destination for “Enola Holmes”. “I would love [return to ‘Enola Holmes’]”, Brown told MTV. “I’m begging you to make it happen.”
Other films Brown released on the market include “The Girls I’ve Been” and “The Thing About Jellyfish”. She will also star for the Russo Brothers in the upcoming sci-fi film “The Electric State”.
