Metallica to perform at Colbert’s Super Bowl

The Super Bowl weekend will have its share of rock, even if the break presentation is reserved for The Weeknd. Green Day has just been announced as part of NFL Honors ceremony on Saturday evening (February 6) and now comes the news that Metallica will join the post-Super Bowl show of The last show with Stephen Colbert on CBS.

Metallica posted about their appearance online, revealing: “We are celebrating the #SuperBowl with our friend @stephenathome on Sunday! Tune in @ colbertlateshow’s” A Late Show: Super Bowl Edition “at 11:35 pm EST on CBS to watch our presentation. #LSSC #LateShow “

Metallica has not yet played the big game, although there have been petitions launched in the past for them to play the halftime ceremony. Many thought that this could happen in 2016, when San Francisco hosted the Super Bowl, but the band ended up playing the show “The Night Before” for CBS Radio, exchanging the difficult terrain for a spot in the outside field of AT&T Park in San Francisco .

That year, the organizers of the Super Bowl chose Coldplay as the main attraction of the Super Bowl, with Beyoncé and Bruno Mars supporting them. Ultimately, Metallica fans managed to get a full set of 18 songs during the show, instead of the traditional medley of songs that artists on the range get.
