Melissa McCarthy sports a blonde wig with her husband Ben Falcone on the set of Netflix’s favorite idiot of God

Melissa McCarthy has stayed in Australia with her family since filming Nicole Kidman’s Hulu miniseries, Nine Perfect Strangers, in New South Wales in 2020.

She and her husband Ben Falcone revealed in February that they had chosen to extend their Down Under stay to film the Netflix series God Favorite Idiot in the country.

On Wednesday, the Hollywood couple saw footage of the upcoming comedy in Lismore, 45 km west of Byron Bay.

God Favorite Idiot is a workplace comedy about a mid-level tech support worker, Clark Thompson (Falcone), who finds love with his colleague Amily Luck (McCarthy) while becoming the involuntary messenger of God.

The star of the bridesmaids, 50, looked almost unrecognizable in a blonde wig as she prepared for the scenes in a lush garden.

Despite Australia’s hottest summer temperatures, Melissa covered herself with a burgundy raincoat.

For the scene, she also wore black pants with a pussy bow blouse that contrasted with the patterns.

Melissa’s character seems to wear glasses, with the actress wearing elegant square lens frames when ‘action’ was called.

Melissa, 50, was seen laughing while wearing a huge green helmet to transform into Hela, who was originally played by Cate Blanchett in Thor: Ragnarok, however, she has not replaced Cate, but is playing Fake Hela.

She would have secured the role after making a hilarious audition tape on Instagram with her husband Ben Falcone on Christmas Day.
