EXCLUSIVE: According to one author, there is a reason why the British royal family did not contact Meghan Markle after the duchess’s bombastic interview with Oprah Winfrey.
On March 16, Gayle King revealed on “CBS This Morning” that Markle’s husband, Prince Harry, talked to his father, Prince Charles and his older brother, Prince William, since the story aired. .

Royal author Anna Pasternak told Fox News that it may be difficult for someone in the royal family to contact Markle, 39, for fear that these talks will leak to the press.
Pasternak had previously written about the other divorced American woman who married a royal member for a book entitled “The Real Wallis Simpson”. The British writer traced Simpson’s last circle of close friends who wanted to clarify his controversial life.
“They don’t trust her,” said Pasternak. “They don’t trust that if they contact her, it won’t be reported by CBS. King told the public that, despite their differences, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex hope that families will someday be able to heal.
“I think it’s frustrating for them to see that it’s a racial conversation about the royal family when all they wanted all the time was for the royalty to step in and tell the press to stop the false, unfair and inaccurate stories that definitely have a bias racial, “King explained.
“And until you recognize that, I think it will be difficult to move on,” said King. “But they both want to get on with it and they both want healing in this family. At the end of the day, this is Harry’s family.”

On March 7, CBS broadcast a two-hour interview that Harry, 36, and his wife gave to Oprah Winfrey. During the television meeting, the Duke of Sussex revealed that his relationship with his father, 72, and his older brother, 38, broke up.
Markle described feeling so isolated and miserable within the royal family that she had thoughts of suicide. The Duchess of Sussex also claimed that a member of the royal family had “concerns” about the skin color of her unborn child.
The family member was not Queen Elizabeth II, 94, or Prince Philip, 99, according to Harry, sparking a wave of speculation about who it might be.

Harry also told the media mogul, 67, that the royal family cut him off in early 2020 after announcing plans to step aside from his roles. But he was able to guarantee the safety of his family because of the money his late mother, Princess Diana, left behind.
“While researching for my book on Wallis Simpson, the only thing that fascinated me is that nothing has changed with regard to the royal family,” said Pasternak. “As much as you want to be this magnificent and modernizing figure, no one is going to come in and shake up the House of Windsor completely.”
Pasternak noted that when the broadcaster announced the special on February 15, it revealed that nothing would be off-limits during the extensive interview. However, she wished Winfrey had asked Markle more about her family.
