Shakira just dyed her hair bright pink – and it’s so 90s
Shakira could dye her hair anytime, anywhere and pull it out completely. Exactly a year after presenting the Super Bowl halftime show with J.Lo, the singer posted her 2021 hair makeover: shiny magenta waves. On Friday night, Shakira revealed the bold new shadow on her Instagram. Swapping her characteristic caramel-blond curls for a personalized, intense reddish-pink color, Shakira’s new hair could be described as a Maraschino cherry red or an ombré magenta. The singer also shared a video styling her dyed red hair in a smooth, voluminous brush using the hot Dyson Airwrap brush, another notable change in her natural curls. During the video, she explained some of her inspiration behind her choice to go red, admitting that she really intended the tone to be a little lighter. In a conversation in Spanish, Shakira said she originally started dyeing her hair pink, but when the dye ran out, she had to improvise by mixing another product, possibly a toner, which intensified the final result. In 1999, his hair had a deep firefighter tone during his performance on MTV Unplugged. She also had red hair in 2002 on the cover of her album Grandes Exitos. So if anything, that look is both nostalgia and a change to something new. We are not sure if Shakira intends to maintain the look or if she will let it disappear for a while.
