Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé make Grammy rap history

Singer and rapper Megan Thee Stallion made Sunday Grammy history by becoming the first female duo to win in the best rap performance category for her remix of Megan Thee Stallion’s hit, “Savage”.

The award was announced before the show aired on CBS and Megan Thee Stallion started her acceptance speech just by screaming with excitement.

“I’m so excited. Sometimes I’m disbelieving,” she tweeted. “I can’t believe I’m the girl from Houston who actually did this. Me and my mom used to talk about me being at the Grammy, and she was telling me that I’m going to win a Grammy.”
Megan Thee Stallion also received the first Grammy of the night on television for best new artist.

Her mother, who was also her manager, died in 2019.
