Do you believe in miracles?

Great news for fans of SNK’s Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection, as one of the coolest portable fighters of all time, SNK vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium, was rated for Nintendo Switch by The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea.

Originally released in the winter of 1999, Departure of the millennium was SNK’s ambitious effort to curb the gigantic action of securities like Capcom vs. SNK for its humble portable device, the Neo Geo Pocket Color. Surprisingly, the experiment was a success, leading to a cute fighter who sees the legends of both brands facing off for a round of punches.

Street Fighters Ryu, Ken, Sakura and Chun-Li; King of fighters’ Iori, Terry Bogard and Mai; Samurai Shodown’s Nakoruru and Haohmaru; up until Darkstalkers’ Morrigan, Felicia and BB Hood appear for the ruck, with Departure of the millennium offering traditional SNK tag-team options, as well as boss characters, unlockable fighters and secret stages. If that wasn’t enough, there are also some fun scoring attack mini-games, based on titles like Metal slug and Ghouls n ‘Ghosts.

Although it is obviously not as deep as an ordinary console fighter, SNK vs. Capcom: departure of the millennium it is, in many ways, one of SNK’s biggest releases – a title that really makes the most of the minimum, going above and beyond to squeeze every drop of energy available on your home platform. Concerns have been raised that licensing could prevent this title from being relaunched and, as such, it is wonderful news that this long-lost fighter will have the opportunity to shine once again.
