Martha Stewart launched a line of cannabis-infused snacks and oils on Tuesday.
“Just as the CBD can support human well-being, it has been shown to improve the quality of life for pets as well,” said Stewart in a statement on Tuesday.
Soft chews range from about $ 20 to $ 25 for a pack of 30, according to Canopy Growth, Stewart’s partner in the venture. Different varieties aim to promote calm, mobility and well-being. There are also chicken flavored CBD mints available for $ 39.99. They do not contain corn, soy and wheat and do not contain artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
Stewart joined Canopy scientists to develop the products, the company said.
“Martha Stewart CBD for Pet is the happy marriage of Canopy’s scientific approach to animal welfare and Martha Stewart’s passion for providing animal lovers with the tools to enrich their pets’ lives,” Dr. Bob Menardi, Canopy’s director of veterinary techniques and educational services, said in a statement. “Together, we are offering consumers an affordable and effective way to live better.”

Pet snacks are the latest in a series of new launches since Stewart announced a partnership to develop a line of CBD-infused products with Canopy Growth.
Other items were designed for human consumption, including snacks with gum flavor, gel capsules and oils. They became available in September.
“I found that CBD supplements are a simple way to improve my health and well-being,” said Stewart at the time. “When someone consumes CBD, its active chemical compounds interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system, or ECS receptors, which help regulate signals through the body’s brain, spinal cord, organs and tissues as a means of maintaining balance.”

The products are already available on the Canopy website and will be sold at Vitamin Shoppe from February.
Stewart’s representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox Business.
Demand for CBD products, which are generally derived from the Cannabis sativa plant and often sold as relaxation supplements or pain relievers, is growing after suffering a minor blow amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to Kadenwood LLC, a major manufacturer of the products.
