Rose McGowan and Dita Von Teese, Marilyn Manson’s former romantic partners, came out in support of the five women who accused Manson of sexual, emotional and physical abuse. However, we have yet to hear from Manson’s current wife, Lindsay Usich, that metal artist Otep Shamaya said he called her regularly to vent about the abuses he suffered at Manson’s hands.
In a new statement, Otep remembers going out with a woman who was a good friend of Usich. Otep says he was aware of the conversations his girlfriend and Usich were having, which described Manson’s heavy drug use and threats of violence against his current wife.
Otep writes:
NOTICE: NON-POPULAR OPINION COMNG: Hi everyone, ok, I have received a lot of requests regarding what I think about Manson. I don’t normally discuss personal things, but since all this evidence is coming out that he sexually and physically assaulted several women and minors, not to mention that he is a sexist and a Nazi sympathizer, I decided to tell you what I know:
I was a big fan of his. I even wore his shirt at Ozzfest when people blamed him for Columbine. And I met him many times. We have mutual friends, including Gene Simmons’ son Nick Simmons. Manson even told one of my fans that he was scared of me after SEVAS TRA was released, which I thought was a great compliment.
But then I dated a woman who was friends with his current wife Lyndsay (and his twin sister – who is married to James Iha from A Perfect Circle) and Lyndsay used to call our house in the early hours and told me she was hysterical bcz he he was on another drug spree, threatening her life, throwing knives at her that were stuck in the wall and verbally assaulting her. We often offer for her to come to my bcz he would NEVER come to face me with this bullshit (believe me), but unfortunately she didn’t let him. So, my ex would stay calm and talk to her until Manson realized she was on the phone and he stopped.
But then he started calling at dawn. They said he was paranoid, out of his mind and accusing his wife of cheating on an imaginary person who had blond hair with a blond mustache called “Don” that he was told he saw on his security cameras and was “fucking his wife” .
Look. This is heartbreaking for all the women he hurt, but also for all the fans who have always supported him – like me.
BUT — He’s not the Luciferian evil that everyone thinks he is. He is just a violent drug addict who chooses to intimidate and, according to reports, physically and sexually attacks women he thinks are weaker than him. I say … let it rot. #OTEP
Indie / folk artist Phoebe Bridgers also shared an alleged incident she experienced with Marilyn Manson that made her stop being a fan of the musician.
“TW: I went to Marilyn Manson’s house when I was a teenager with some friends. I was a huge fan. He referred to a room in his house as the ‘r * pe room’, I thought it was just his horrible frat boy sense of humor. I stopped being a fan. I am with everyone who performed, ”she writes. “The record company knew, the administration knew, the band knew. Getting away now, pretending to be shocked and horrified is fucking pathetic. “
Manson denied the charges against him. “Obviously, my art and my life have always been controversial magnets, but these recent statements about me are horrible distortions of reality,” he posted on Instagram. “My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with partners of similar minds. how – and why – others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth. “
