Mandalorian actress Gina Carano said Disney planned to let her go BEFORE the Holocaust post

Gina Carano, the conservative actress who was fired from the hit series The Mandalorian for comparing the political climate to the Nazi era, claims that her former bosses at Lucasfilm and Disney were ‘looking at her like a hawk’ before her resignation.

“I’ve been through a lot and seen so much now, clearly, of the bullying that’s going on, and I’ve seen it before,” the former martial arts fighter told Ben Shapiro of the Daily Wire in an interview set to air on Sunday .

DailyMail.com sought comments from Lucasfilm and Disney.

An excerpt from the interview was published on Friday by Deadline.

In it, Carano tells Shapiro: ‘I’m not the only one who has been bullied by this company, and I know that deeply.’

She added: ‘I could share a story that would change things in the media, but I can’t because it would betray a friend … Everyone is afraid of losing their job.’

Carano, the 38-year-old actress who played Cara Dune for the first two seasons of the hit streaming series on Disney +, was fired last week after causing a stir on social media because of an Instagram post that invoked the Holocaust.

The conservative actress and former MMA fighter was fired by Disney after posting on Instagram Stories that ‘Jews were beaten on the streets, not by Nazi soldiers, but by their neighbors … even by children.’

The post continued: ‘As the story gets edited, most people today don’t realize that, to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily arrest thousands of Jews, the government first made its own neighbors hate them simply because they were Jews. .

‘How is this different from hating someone for their political views?’

A Lucasfilm spokesman said in a statement that Carano was no longer employed by the producer and ‘there were no plans for her to be in the future’.

“However, your posts on social media denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are disgusting and unacceptable,” the statement said.

Carano deleted the post, but it was a screenshot and shared on Twitter, where it went viral, which caused a campaign to call on Disney to fire her.

Talent agency UTA also dismissed Carano as a client after the controversy, according to Variety.

Carano’s dismissal also sparked outrage – this time from conservatives who claim that big media companies like Disney were not allowing their stars to convey opinions contrary to liberal thinking.

Many of Carano’s online supporters pointed out that his Mandalorian co-star Pedro Pascal once used his social media account to compare ICE detention centers to Nazi concentration camps.

Cancel Disney + started to be a trend on Twitter shortly after Carano’s resignation, with many pointing out Pascal’s comments as proof of the company’s hypocrisy in dealing with conservative stars.

Days after her resignation, she confirmed her plan to star in a new film in collaboration with The Daily Wire, the right-wing news and opinion website founded by Shapiro.

Carano told Shapiro that he felt he was being ‘hunted’ by Disney and Lucasfilm executives.

“Just a few weeks ago, Lucasfilm asked an artist they hired to delete my character and put a different character in place, and he proudly announces that on Twitter, and deletes my character and puts another character in place,” she said.

“All Cara Dune fans were outraged. They were like, “Why didn’t you add the character? Why did you have to remove the character? There’s something wrong? Will Ginny be fired? “‘

Carano told Shapiro that no one at Disney or Lucasfilm spoke to her personally to inform her that she would not be returning to the hit streaming series.

‘As I found out [that I was fired] was that I searched the internet, and you know, you check your Twitter and I’m being trending and the hashtag “fire Gina Carano” worked ‘, she said.

Carano said he accidentally received an email from a Disney employee. She said the email revealed that there were people at the company who “fought for me” but “didn’t win in the end”.

She said she was being monitored for her posts on social media, which were often opinionated and political in nature, although her more liberal castmates were free to express their views without fear of being punished.

“They are on top of me and watching me like a hawk, and I am watching people in the same production and they can say whatever they want, and that’s when I had a problem,” she said.

‘I had a problem because I was not agreeing with the narrative.’

Carano said she was ‘ready at any moment to be fired, because I saw that happen to so many people’.

“I saw the expression on their faces,” she said.

– I’ve seen bullying happen, so when it started, they aimed the guns at you, and you know it’s just a matter of time.

She added: ‘I have seen this happen to so many people, and I just thought to myself (…) “you are coming after me, I know you are”.

‘They are making it very obvious through their employees who were coming after me, so I thought,’ I’m going to swing down and I’m going to stay true to myself ‘.’
