Man filmed himself sexually abusing a dog and posted a video online, says the South Carolina sheriff

A South Carolina teacher’s aide is accused of engaging in sexual acts with his dog in a nauseating abuse that he would have filmed and shared on the Internet, officials said this week.

Kevin Billups, 34, was arrested on Tuesday after Lexington County deputies received a link to one of the videos, according to a press release. Investigators got a search warrant for his home in Columbia that day and found evidence of inter-species sexual assault – as well as something that was even more disturbing.

“We also found an external hard drive containing hundreds of images and videos of child pornography,” Sheriff Jay Koon of Lexington County said in a statement.

Billups was charged with eight counts of sodomy, a crime punishable by up to five years in prison and third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, another crime that carries a maximum sentence of 10 years behind bars.

The dog has been removed from the home and is in the care of an animal rescue organization, said Koon. A police report obtained by local media identified the dog as a Great Dane named Leia.

The accused pervert has worked as a kindergarten teaching assistant at LB Nelson Elementary School in Columbia since 2012, the Post and Courier reported. He was taken into custody at the school, but “no students observed the arrest,” according to school officials, wrote in an email to the parents.

Billups was being held on $ 240,000 bond.

This is an active investigation and anyone with information about the case or other potential incidents involving the suspect is encouraged to contact Lexington County authorities.
