Madame Ghislaine Maxwell, accused of Jeffrey Epstein, sells house in London to pay legal fees

Jailed socialite Ghislaine Maxwell is selling her home in London to pay for her attorney’s fees, a family spokesman confirmed. The former partner and accused madame of Jeffrey Epstein, who has been in federal custody since July on charges of helping with Epstein’s sex trafficking scheme, owned a house in the upscale Belgravia district. Maxwell’s representative did not confirm the sale price, but the houses nearby were recently sold for $ 3.6 million to $ 11.2 million. The sale previously caused problems for Maxwell with his bank, Barclays, which closed his account after the buyer deposited the payment. Prosecutors accused Maxwell, the daughter of controversial publisher Robert Maxwell, of helping Epstein to abuse underage girls in the late 1990s. One of Epstein’s accusers says she was taken to the London home to have sex with Prince Andrew. Andrew denies the charges; Maxwell pleaded not guilty.
