Loyal dog waits six days outside the hospital for its owner

When Cemal Senturk was transferred by ambulance to Hospital Medical Park in Trabzon on January 14, her dog, Boncuk, escaped from her apartment and followed him to the facility, where she waited patiently every day.

The hospital staff informed Senturk’s family about the whereabouts of their canine friend.

But after Boncuk was brought back home, she managed to escape again – and returned to the hospital every day, Murat Ercan, the director of the hospital’s international patient center, told CNN.

The hospital said Senturk’s apartment was close by and the family was unsure how the dog was still on the run.

“His dog ‘Boncuk’ followed him to the hospital gate and refused to leave for six days until his owner was released,” said Ercan in a statement.

Boncuk, photographed here with owner Cemal Senturk, waited outside the hospital for six days.

“Even though the family [took] Boncuk back home she managed to escape every day to wait at the hospital gate. “

To try to reassure and comfort her, Senturk communicated with Boncuk through the window during his stay on the premises.

But his dedicated four-legged friend refused to leave until Senturk did.

During his surveillance, the dog won the affection of the hospital staff, who fed and cared for him, added Ercan.

“Cemal Senturk has been with Boncuk for nine years and also said he missed her very much during his stay at the hospital,” he said.

“After he was released to leave, he found his dog at the hospital gate. Boncuk behaved very well during the six days and managed to capture the love and affection of the entire team.”
