Lori Loughlin released from prison after 2-month sentence for college admission fraud

Bureau of Prisons spokesman Emery Nelson confirmed to CNN that Giannulli was released from Lompoc prison on Friday, but declined to say whether he is in a recovery home or at home.

The full launch of Giannulli is scheduled for April 17, according to Nelson.

Giannulli’s lawyers did not respond to CNN’s requests for information on Saturday afternoon.

Giannulli and Loughlin became some of the prominent parents involved in the college admission scandal. They admitted to having paid the scheme’s mentor, William “Rick” Singer, $ 500,000 to have their daughters accepted at the University of Southern California.
Giannulli asked a judge to grant him confinement at home for compassionate reasons earlier this year, because the coronavirus pandemic forced him to spend 56 days in quarantine in solitary confinement. Judge Nathaniel Gorton denied the request on 26 January.
Loughlin was released in December after serving a two-month sentence for her role in the college admission scheme. Loughlin is also expected to serve two years of supervised freedom, perform 100 hours of community service, and pay a $ 150,000 fine.
