Senator Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., Called Georgia’s aspiring Democratic Senate Jon Ossoff a “pathological liar” on Thursday for his false claim that she had “campaigned” with a member of the Ku Klux Klan .
“Georgia knows that Jon Ossoff is a pathological liar. He is a trust fund socialist whose only job has been working for the Chinese Communist Party in recent years,” Loeffler told Fox News reporter Peter Doocy, referring to payments from an agency linked to the Hong Kong government’s media conglomerate to Ossoff’s media company, which he initially did not list on a financial disclosure form this year.

Ossoff, who is challenging Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., In one of the two second rounds of the Georgia Senate, made the remark about Loeffler during an interview with Fox News in Wedneday, and he tweeted then the clip. He was seen more than 5 million times on Thursday afternoon; however, on Thursday night, the tweet was deleted.

“[Loeffler] is demeaning to these cruel personal attacks [against Raphael Warnock] to distract from the fact that she is campaigning with a former member of the Ku Klux Klan, “said Ossoff.
Ossoff’s accusation referred to a December 13 photo that Loeffler took at a campaign event with white supremacist Chester Doles, who spent time with the KKK and the neo-Nazi National Alliance. Loeffler’s campaign quickly denounced Doles as soon as his identity came to light, and the two did not campaign together.

“We kicked him out immediately … I had no idea who he was,” said Loeffler. “I report it. I don’t believe it and it has no place in our campaign.”
Regarding Republican attacks on him because of ties to China, Ossoff told Fox News on Wednesday that his media company’s previous ties to China have shown no influence from the country’s communist government on him.

Loeffler countered his second-round counterpart, Rev. Raphael Warnock, for investigating child abuse in a field he ran and what she called anti-military and anti-police rhetoric. Warnock was also attacked by Loeffler after Fox News reported a body camera shot of his ex-wife telling police officers during a domestic dispute in March that he fakes the public.
“We are the firewall to stop socialism in America … We can lose America,” she said. “This is what is at stake here.”
The duels in Georgia’s qualifiers will determine which party will control the U.S. Senate in 2021.

The news came shortly after Loeffler’s interview that Perdue would be quarantined after coming into close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19. The second round will take place on January 5, and a record number of Georgians have already voted early.
