Former President Donald Trump is expected to meet with House minority leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., On Thursday before his Senate impeachment trial, Fox News learns.

The meeting will take place in South Florida just weeks after the January 6 Capitol riots, which many attributed to Trump and for which he was accused by the House a week later for “inciting insurrection”.
McCarthy subsequently opposed Trump’s impeachment, but was open to a censorship resolution. But McCarthy most recently expressed concern about the vote by GOP conference chairman Liz Cheney for Trump’s impeachment.
Trump’s trial, the first for a former U.S. president, is set to begin the week of February 8.
