LisaRaye McCoy is clarifying what she said about the Buffalo radio host who compared black women to “toast”, saying that she is NOT defending the guy – but simply pointing … yes, he may have an opinion on the matter.
We met the actress on Sunday at LAX and asked if she was supporting the network Rob Lederman – this after apparently coming to his defense last week on his show, ‘Cocktails with Queens’, with co-hosts Claudia Jordan, Syleena Johnson and Vivica A. Fox.
ICYMI … LisaRaye didn’t seem too bothered by what Lederman really expressed in essence – that is, that he prefers lighter-skinned black women to darker-skinned women.
The other women questioned, saying that there was colorism at play with that kind of thinking … but LisaRaye is firm, even now … the guy has the right to express what he likes, even if he is white. She notes that his choice of words was horrible and humiliating, but when you look at the core … she doesn’t find it that exciting.

LisaRaye says the reason why some might have been more offended than others at the climate we are in, and the fact that people are much more sensitive today.
In fact, she categorically denies being a colorist – telling us that she has members of the darker-skinned family. That said, our camera guy asked her a provocative question … and would it be, does colorism lend itself to racism by default?
LRM has an interesting answer. One thing is for sure … she thinks Lederman’s race makes it more complicated.
