Lindsey Graham praises Biden’s CIA director Bill Burns: ‘I’ve known him for years’

Senator Lindsey Graham, RS.C., praised President-elect Joe Biden’s appointment as CIA director on Monday.

“Bill Burns is an excellent choice to be the next CIA Director,” wrote Graham in Twitter. “I have known him for years. He has a deep understanding of the threats that our nation faces around the world.”

“He is an experienced and well-known diplomat and a respected figure in the intelligence community. Like director Haspell who is stepping down, Burns will have a firm hand in command of the CIA. I look forward to supporting his nomination,” Graham continuous.

Graham said Burns’ nomination had his support in the Senate, but other Biden nominees may not be lucky enough to have bipartisan support. For example, some Republicans signaled their opposition to Biden’s nominee to head the Office and Management and Budget, Neera Tanden.
