On January 3, the 20 year old TikTok user @shhlana – who usually posts on TV shows like “Julie and the Phantoms” and “The Wilds” – posted a TikTok saying: “Guys, I think I have to reveal to my parents soon. ”Last week, she posted an update, saying she had not yet spoken to them. “But listen to me,” she said. “What if I made Lindsay Lohan tell my parents? She’s on Cameo now. And wouldn’t that be iconic? “
Well, Lohan made a Cameo for Alana, but no – she didn’t think it would be right to come for her.
Instead, the actor-businessman offered Alana good-hearted words: “Hi, Alana, it’s Lindsay Lohan. I know you are about to take a big step towards telling your parents who you really are and what you want them to accept from you – and I think you should do that yourself. I think coming from you, you will feel a lot of power and strength. And it is important that you are who you really are, that you love yourself and that you can live up to it and tell your parents that. “

TikTok with Lohan’s sweet response has gone viral, with over half a million views since she posted on Sunday. It has been posted on Twitter too. Soon the press also caught on, with vehicles like the E! Online and People writing stories about Lohan’s encouragement. The coverage, in fact, caused Alana to hurry up and talk to her parents: On a subsequent TikTok Monday, she said she reported them because she “didn’t want them to find out on the internet”.
“And they took it well,” she said. “This is good – I’m feeling very, very relieved.”
Touching, yes? But on Tuesday, Alana said Variety that she had received a message from Lindsay Lohan Cameo’s account asking her to remove the video. A screenshot of the request said, “Hello! I just wanted to ask if you could take the cameo because it was private for your use only. “
A Lohan representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A Cameo representative said Variety, “The user has a license to share the unedited video. ”
And so it remains. Alana – who goes to UC Berkeley, is doing virtual school at her home in Southern California because of the coronavirus pandemic and asked that her surname not be released – said that the idea of asking a celebrity to reveal to her parents for she “came to my head at random. ”
She scanned Cameo looking for the right person – and saw Lohan. “I had no idea that she was there,” said Alana. “And I thought, ‘Wow, that would be so incredible.’ I grew up watching Lindsay in all of her films. Like ‘The Parent Trap’, ‘Freaky Friday’ – all of these films were basically my childhood. “
When Lohan sent Cameo, he came with a message that she could redo it, Alana said, if she was not satisfied with it. “I ended up texting her and saying, ‘No, thanks. That was incredible. I am definitely inspired. ‘”
She wasn’t sure she would post Cameo on TikTok if Lohan really did what she asked, Alana said. She changed her mind when she received Lohan’s words of support: “My initial reaction was, ‘I know there are So many people who need to hear this message, who are also struggling to manifest themselves or not – to be true to themselves or not. ‘I didn’t think it was going to explode – whoever saw it was enough for me. “
However, it exploded. In addition to the occasional comment that she should demand a refund, TikTok garnered support for Alana – and love for Lohan. “2 QUEENS. I’m crying, ”said a comment.
As for Alana’s departure – he said he identifies himself as bisexual or queer – mission accomplished. In the rush for publicity, she talked to her parents separately on Monday. “It was definitely a little unnerving, a little emotional.”
Leaving Lohan’s request aside, Alana plans to leave TikTok on, and said she is “confused” about why Lohan wants him removed. In the end, she got exactly what she wanted from the experience – even in a tortuous way.
But as for the pessimists in the comments saying that Lohan should have done what Alana originally asked for, she disagrees: “Actually, I’m much more grateful that she sent it.
