The Maverick will not run on the Ranger’s chassis, but on the same monoblock platform supporting the Bronco Sport and Escape. This may have alarmed some compact truck enthusiasts at first, but anyone who has seen the Bronco Sport’s impressive off-road capabilities thanks to its advanced AWD system should have no reason to fear. We don’t know yet if Maverick will come standard with AWD, but it will certainly be optional.
Under the hood, there is a good chance that Maverick will share the Bronco Sport engines as well, the 1.5 and 2.0 liter EcoBoost engines with 181 and 245 horsepower, respectively. The eight-speed automatic transmission of the SUV must also be carried. The price is expected to start at around $ 20,000.
