After being kidnapped in an armed robbery last Wednesday, the French Bulldogs stolen from Lady Gaga, Koji and Gustav, were returned unharmed to the Los Angeles police. His dog walker, Ryan Fischer, however, remains hospitalized, having been shot in the chest while two suspects allegedly took the singer’s pets. A third French Bulldog, Asia, managed to escape and returned to his injured keeper, keeping him company until help arrived. On Monday, Fischer posted photos of himself on a hospital bed and thanked his family, friends and Lady Gaga for their support during his recovery, reserving a special shout out to Asia, who he calls “guardian angel” during the terrible incident.

“4 days ago, as a car accelerated and blood spilled from my gunshot wound, an angel trotted and lay down beside me,” Fischer wrote in one of the two Instagram posts. “My panicked cries subsided as I looked at her, although I registered that the blood accumulated around her tiny body was mine. I packed Asia as best I could, thanked her for all the incredible adventures we had together, apologized for not being able to defend her brothers and then decided that I would still try to save them … and myself. “

After Fischer’s attack and the kidnapping of her puppies, Lady Gaga distributed a $ 500,000 reward for the return of Koji and Gustav. “If you bought them or found them without knowing it, the reward is the same,” wrote Gaga on Friday. “I still love you, Ryan Fischer. You risked your life to fight for our family. You are a hero forever. ”The dog walker, initially admitted to the hospital in critical condition, is doing well and must recover fully. The dogs, in turn, were dropped off at a police station by an unidentified woman on Friday; no suspects were named in the crime.

“I am still recovering from a crisis very close to death and I have stayed (for the most part, I mean, I am human) away from the growing history of the media,” continues Fischer in his second post. “I will write and say it later, but the gratitude for all the love I feel on this planet is immense and intense. I feel your healing support! Thanks. I feel humble and thankful that the police’s attention and focus were sufficient to bring Koji and Gustav back to safety, and I know that they are committed to bringing these criminals and homicide-takers to justice. I am very grateful for everything you continue to do. “
