Lady Gaga’s “selfless” dog walker, Ryan Fischer, who was shot by swindlers who stole two of his beloved dogs, is now reportedly doing well to send a message to a friend he was breathing on his own.
Fischer was in a stable condition after being shot in the chest when two thugs ambushed him on Wednesday night as he strolled through Hollywood with the three French bulldogs of the pop icon, LAPD captain Jonathan Tippet told People magazine.
When asked if Fischer is going to fully recover, Tippet replied: “I believe so.”
Dr. Fred Pescatore, Fischer’s friend and former client, told the magazine that Fischer texted him from his hospital bed on Thursday and said he was “breathing alone now”
“The message he sent was not even about him. It was, ‘I miss you. I love you. Thank you, ‘”said Pescatore, who described his friend as an altruistic and“ incredible ”person.
Fischer used to walk with Pescatore’s beagle, Remington, when he lived in the Big Apple, according to People.
“I never met anyone [who doesn’t love him]. There is nothing negative about this man ”, he told the publication, adding that Fischer has a special affection for dogs.
“He is just incredible with them. He cares. They are like your children, ”said Pescatore. “He is very attuned to the needs of dogs. He would do anything for them – anything. “
The friend also cited the horrible video that captured the moment Fischer was shot and shouted for help while he was bleeding on the street.
When Fischer refused to release the dogs, one of his attackers raised a gun and fired a single shot, leaving Fischer sprawled on the sidewalk while the pair grabbed two of Gaga’s three dogs, Gustav and Koji, and ran away in the car.
“He would protect these dogs with his life. And it almost did. And hopefully not, ”Pescatore told People.
The singer is offering a $ 500,000 reward for information about her dogs.
“I just want the world to know the man behind Lady Gaga’s dogs and other people’s dogs,” said Pescatore. “And this man deserves recognition. He was the only one who was shot. He was the only one protecting his dogs. And few people are focusing on that. “
The police captain told People that there are currently two suspects, both considered blacks between the ages of 20 and 25.
Fischer’s wallet was not stolen and Tippet said the men “intended to steal the individual’s dogs”.
