Kim Cattrall cast a poorly disguised shadow on her former Sex and the City castmates by ‘liking’ a tweet from a fan who ‘applauded’ her decision to ‘put herself first’ and refuse to participate in the next reboot of the HBO program.
Cattrall, 64, has yet to make a public statement about the news of the series’ revival, however, she made her feelings perfectly clear with her reaction to the tweet, which praised the star for ‘doing what’s best for her’.
The tweet said: ‘I absolutely love Sex and the City and although I’m sad that Samantha won’t be back, I applaud doing what is best for you and I think this is a great example of putting yourself first. All right, @KimCattrall. ‘

Kim and co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon became TV icons in the original season of the series from 1998 to 2004.
Later, Kim appeared in both film adaptations – including the critical sequence that featured Liza Minnelli singing Beyoncé’s song Single Ladies.
Sarah Jessica, however, remained publicly open to the idea of a meeting for some time and this Sunday it was announced that the project is going ahead.
Fans, of course, were quick to note that the show’s new poster, which is called And Just Like That …, did not include Kim’s sex-crazy character Samantha Jones.

When an Instagram commentator suggested that Jennifer Coolidge be cast as Samantha, Sarah Jessica vaguely wrote: ‘We have some new stories to tell. We are excited. ‘
She clarified in another comment: ‘No, I don’t dislike her. I never said that. Would never. Samantha is not part of that story. But she will always be part of us. It doesn’t matter where we are or what we do. X. ‘
She also expressed her consideration for Kim when another commentator wrote that ‘we will miss Kim / Samantha’, Sarah Jessica replied, ‘we will also miss him. We loved her very much. ‘
The original series created by Darren Star and adapted from a Candace Bushnell column was aired on HBO and therefore the revival will have a home on HBO Max.

Years ago, efforts were made to bring the band together for a third film, but the project never materialized, presumably because of Kim’s objections.

Last year, Kim, who was born in England and grew up mainly in Canada, became an American citizen and starred in the soap opera Filthy Rich.
