Karate students in each dojo explained

Warning: SPOILERS for Snake Kai session 3.

At the end of Snake Kai Season 3, West Valley High karatekas were rearranged between three dojos, with Johnny Lawrence’s new Eagle Fang Karate (William Zabka) joining Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai. In addition, Johnny and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) finally decided to put their differences aside and work together because it is the only way to stop John Kreese (Martin Kove). Senseis LaRusso and Lawrence even combined their dojos and now they all train at the home of the late Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki “Pat” Morita).

Part of the fun of Snake Kai is to see how teenage karate students evolve in their skills while also growing and changing as people, which has led several of the main characters in the series to switch alliances between Johnny, Daniel and Kreese. Inside Snake Kai Season 1, while Johnny’s resurrected Cobra Kai increased his list, his distant son Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan) became Daniel’s only student. Samantha LaRusso (Mary Mouser) joined Miyagi-Do in Season 2 while Cobra Kai continued to welcome new members, such as Tory Nichols (Peyton List), but Kreese stealing Cobra Kai from Johnny also changed things significantly , as well as the fatal injuries of Miguel Diaz (Xolo Mariduena) suffered at the end of Snake Kai seas0n 2. Daniel also closed Miyagi-Do in his pain after the tragic West Valley High fight.

Snake Kai the third season saw Kreese’s students running violently over the valley, with a traumatized Sam trying to hold on to the fort with the remaining Miyagi-Do students. But as season 3 progressed, Daniel and Johnny returned to their true roles as senseis; LaRusso restarted Miyagi-Do and welcomed his students while Lawrence founded a new dojo, the hilarious one called Eagle Fang Karate, with Miguel and some former members of Cobra Kai.

At the end of Snake Kai In season 3, the line-ups changed again as the stakes increased: the All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament will now set all scores according to the agreement that Johnny and Daniel made with Kreese. While all three dojos have more students in the background as extras, obviously the main players are the main characters of Snake Kai. Now, with Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang working together, as well as some of the main defections and acquisitions, here’s who is part of which dojo goes to Snake Kai season 4 (named characters only).

List of Cobra Kai

Snake Kai Tory Dojo

Robby Keene – Johnny Lawrence’s prodigal son is Snake Kaithe biggest child problem, but it landed firmly next to John Kreese’s black and yellow dojo. Robby has already been trained in the style of Miyagi-Do, but he has reason to be suspicious of his father and Daniel, his ex-sensei, which made Robby an easy prey for Kreese, who can fuel his desire for revenge. Robby is a valuable catch for Cobra Kai; he reached the finals of the 2018 All Valley Karate Tournament and should be a favorite to win the 2019 tournament as well.

Tory Nichols – Tory is Samatha LaRusso’s relentless archenemy, and she is one of Cobra Kai’s most talented and dangerous fighters. Kreese values Tory so much that he went to great lengths to bring her back to the dojo, and he sees her as perhaps the most talented natural athlete on his list. Tory also has sociopathic tendencies, which makes her a young and feminine version of Kreese.

Kyler – Kyler (Joe Seo) was a Snake Kai Season 1 bully (and Sam’s ex-boyfriend) who reappeared in Season 3 and was recruited by Kreese. Kyler has experience in amateur wrestling and is an idiot subjected to violence because of the abuse of his parents at home. This makes him exactly the type of student that John Kreese can turn into a dangerous fighter.

List of Miyagi-Do

Sam Demetri's Miyagi

Samatha LaRusso – As Daniel’s daughter, Sam is part of Mr. Miyagi’s legacy and she remembers him fondly as a grandfather figure. Sam is also a lightning rod for the drama at West Valley High, having dated Kyler, Miguel, Robby and now Miguel again, in addition to being Tory’s archenemy. However, Sam has been trained in Miyagi-Do karate since the age of 8 and she is a talented fighter who understands Mr. Miyagi’s philosophy better than anyone, except Daniel and Chozen (Yuji Okumoto).

Demetri – The neurotic nerd Demetri (Gianni DeCenzo) has perhaps had the most notable twist of Snake Kai in season 3, he gained confidence and Demetri even got Yasmine (Annalisa Cochrane) as a girlfriend! Demetri was also victimized and had his arm broken by Cobra Kai, but that did not break his spirit or his commitment to Miyagi-Do, which shows how much he has grown.

Chris – Chris (Khalil AND MEGA) is a huge WWE fan who joined and then left Cobra Kai because he hated the brutality that Kreese taught. Chris joined Miyagi-Do and helped Sam keep the students together when the doors to the dojo were closed. Chris is a trusted friend and he is also happy that his best friend Mitch (Aiden Mincks) left Cobra Kai in season 3.

Nathaniel – The youngest member of Miyagi-Do, Nathaniel (Nathaniel Oh) was not seen so much in Snake Kai season 3, but he is still part of Daniel LaRusso’s dojo and helped in the car wash to raise money for Miguel’s medical bills.

Eagle Fang Karate List

Eagle Fang Roster

Miguel Diaz – Eternally loyal to his best friend and sensei, Johnny, Miguel regained the use of his legs in Snake Kai season 3, thanks to the unusual but effective rehabilitation of Lawrence Sensei. Miguel then gave Johnny back his sensei mojo and helped found Eagle Fang Karate. Diaz is the current All Valley Karate champion, but he has not yet fully recovered from his injuries, so the jury is out if he can still be the fighter he was and defend his championship in Snake Kai Season 4.

Mitch – Mitch, nicknamed “Penis Breath”, which he is inexplicably well with, was kicked out of Cobra Kai by Kreese for not being strong enough. He ended up joining Eagle Fang Karate, which finally puts him back next to his best friend and also a WWE fan, Chris.

Bert – Young, blond and bespectacled, Bert (Owen Morgan) was a dedicated Cobra Kai that Kreese kicked out because he didn’t want to feed the rat he called Clarence to Kreese’s pet snake. Bert has joined Eagle Fang Karate, so he is now back in training with his original sensei, Johnny, and he has reunited with his former best friend Nathaniel.

Unknown Affiliation

Hawk and Kreese in Cobra Kai Season 3

Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz – After 3 seasons as the most fanatical student of Cobra Kai, Hawk changed his mind and left his dojo, choosing to fight alongside Demetri (whose arm he broke at the beginning of the season) in Snake Kaiend of season 3. As Johnny pointed out, it was his teaching that led Eli to “reverse the script” and restart like Hawk, but Kreese’s “no mercy” philosophy made him an idiot. It is not clear which Hawk dojo joined at the end of Snake Kai session 3; he is next to Demetri, but Hawk may have joined Eagle Fang instead of Miyagi-Do.

Aisha Robinson – Aisha (Nichole Brown) was Cobra Kai’s first student, but she was not in season 3, with the explanation that her parents moved her from West Valley High after the season 2 weather fight. However, Aisha can come back in Snake Kai 4th season – the question is which dojo would she enter, since she has friends in all three?

Raymond also known as Stingray – Stingray (Paul Walter Hauser) was the oldest student of Cobra Kai who was also not in season 3, and he was even banned from being around children now. However, Stingray may reappear in Snake Kai season 4, but will he be with Kreese again or will he regret it and try to be okay with Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang?
