The incident happened near the Blue Cloud Movie Ranch in Santa Clarita, northeast of Los Angeles, on Saturday afternoon.
Melnick was transported to a hospital where he was treated for non-fatal injuries.
An actor’s spokesman told Variety on Sunday that Melnick is doing well and is recovering at home, and emphasized that the footage the actor was doing was in no way associated with the SEAL Team.
Ironically, last week, he posted a video on Instagram in which he was seen successfully performing the fast rope maneuver carrying a dog.
