Justin Fields may not have played for Meyer Urbano in Ohio … but the former Buckeye star says he has no doubt that the coach will succeed in Jacksonville.
The quarterback just landed in LA at LAX this week … and when we asked him about Jags’ newest boss – the 21 year old did nothing but praise for the coach.
“Coach [Ryan] Day recruited me [to Ohio State] but I want to say that I’ve heard a lot about Coach Meyer and the way he coaches, ”said Field.
“So, I wouldn’t be surprised if he had great success in Jacksonville.”
Of course, there’s a chance that Fields will end up playing for Urban next season … Justin just declared for the project and Meyer has the best overall choice.

Most believe Urban will have a Clemson star, Trevor Lawrence, instead of Fields … but when we asked Justin if he believed he was the best candidate, he sure seemed to think so.
“I’m not going to divulge what I think makes me better, because I don’t want to cause any controversy,” says Fields. “But, of course, you have confidence that you are the best player in the country.”
As for Fields’ draft day plans for the pandemic … Justin tells us that the party will have to be lowkey this year – even if Meyer ends up recruiting him first overall.
