For the first time in almost a decade, Justin Bieber is without tattoos.
The 26-year-old singer abandoned his tattoos to play a boxer inspired by “Rocky” in the new music video for his latest single, “Anyone”.
Bieber shared a clip of the backstage transformation on Instagram, posting a time-lapse video of himself sitting in a chair while his chest and arms were being covered with makeup to hide the paint.

“No tattoos for #Anyonevideo,” he wrote in the caption.
“It is so strange to see you without tattoos,” wrote one commentator.
Another added, “Man, I didn’t even notice that you covered your tattoos in the video.”
Fans were divided over Bieber’s new temporary look. “It looks good without tattoos, actually,” commented one, while another wrote, “I think we can all agree that you look better with all the tattoos.”
The video clip follows the singer like a boxer as he trains in his backyard and on the beach before finding himself in the ring against some worthy opponents. He also stars actor Zoey Deutch as the boxer’s love interest and weaves intimate scenes of the couple.
At the end of the video, Bieber appears to have been knocked out during the final fight, but then regains his strength and finally defeats his opponent. He and Deutch celebrate their big win with a hug and a kiss in the ring.
Bieber sang “Anyone” in a live performance during the special show “T-Mobile Presents: NYE Live with Justin Bieber” and officially released the single at midnight on January 1st.
“I can’t think of a better way to close 2020 and start 2021 than to celebrate with my fans around the world and share this new song with them,” said Bieber in a statement. “Music has helped us all this year, and for me personally it has been healing and transformative. ‘Anyone’ is such a special song, full of hope and anthem. This sets the tone for a brighter new year, full of hope and possibilities. “
The Canadian singer released his fifth studio album, “Changes”, featuring the Grammy-nominated single “Yummy” in February 2020.
In October, the singer released his single “Lonely” accompanied by a moving video, starring Jacob Tremblay as Bieber, which portrayed his rise to stardom at a young age. The video transported fans back to Bieber’s early days with the “Wonder” star adopting Bieber’s signature side fringe, purple sweatshirt and white pants and jacket.
“Lonely left now with @itsbennyblanco. When he and @finneas showed me this song to be honest, it was hard to hear considering how difficult it was to go through some of these chapters,” wrote Bieber on Instagram after the song’s release. “I went to the studio and sang, which was not easy, but I started to really see the importance of telling this story!”
He added: “It made me realize that we all feel lonely at times! Being someone in my position, I believe it is powerful to express vulnerability and that is why I believe this song is so powerful!”
