Josh Hartnett shows again with Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham for ‘Five Eyes’ – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: We just learned that Josh Hartnett should star opposite Jason Statham, Cary Elwes and Aubrey Plaza in his latest thriller Miramax / STX, which has reached the point Five Eyes. The film, which is temporarily untitled, represents the second collaboration between Hartnett and Ritchie after Wrath of Man, another Jason Statham-Ritchie combo scheduled for release this year.

Ritchie directs and is producing the film based on a script written by Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies (The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man), with Ritchie reviews. Atkinson will also produce. Bill Block is producing for Miramax, which is also fully funding the film, and STX has acquired worldwide rights and will distribute directly in the United States, the United Kingdom and Ireland and the rest of the world through its network of international distribution partners.

The article follows MI6’s arms and steel agent (Statham) who is recruited by a global intelligence agency to track and stop the sale of deadly new weapon technology that threatens to disrupt the world order. Reluctantly paired with the CIA high-tech expert, Fortune embarks on a world mission where he will have to use all his charm, ingenuity and stealth to track down and infiltrate the billionaire arms broker. The film is currently being shot in Doha, Qatar, but later moves production to Turkey.

Hartnett will be seen at the next Raoul Peck Exterminate all brutes for HBO. He starred last year in the police thriller Most wanted, and his feature credits include Pearl Harbor, Sin City, The Black Dahlia, Black Hawk Down, The Virgin Suicides, and the quibi action comedy series Die Hart starring Kevin Hart and John Travolta.
