The deadline confirmed that Transformers actor Josh Duhamel is negotiating to take on the role of Armie Hammer in Jennifer Lopez’s action comedy Forced marriage. The news comes less than a week after Hammer left the project after a social media controversy involving some sexual messages he allegedly sent.
Forced marriage follows Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (who Duhamel would play), who bring their loving but very stubborn families together, to the wedding at the final destination, as soon as the couple starts to get scared. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s life is in danger when the whole group is taken hostage. Jason Moore directs from a script by Mark Hammer and Liz Meriwether. Lionsgate is launching, and if Duhamel can commit, the photo cameras could run next month.

Alex Young is overseeing production and executive production for Mandeville Films and Courtney Baxter of Nuyorican Productions. Ryan Reynolds is also an executive producer along with George Dewey. James Myers and Scott O’Brien are overseeing the production of Lionsgate.
Duhamel appears next in the Netflix series Jupiter’s legacy of which he is the leader. Actor credits include Love, Simon, Transformers: The Last Knight, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Transformers, and Win a date with Ted Hamilton! For 106 episodes, Duhamel played Danny McCoy on NBC’s Las Vegas.
