Well, hello, look at us making up reasons to celebrate! The internet is bursting the rainbow arches in honor of JoJo Siwa, who they believe to have emerged as part of the LGBTQ + community. The 17-year-old dancer and childlike personality has been something of a gay icon for her queer and trans adult fans for years, but now some are thinking she is more than an ally. In a TikTok posted on Wednesday night, Siwa synchronizes his lips with Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”, an unofficial official LGBTQ + hymn. Specifically, Siwa synchronized his lips “It doesn’t matter whether gay, straight or bi, lesbian or transgender, I am on the right track, baby, I was born to survive” while washing in a rainbow light and using a rainbow bow . Several influencers congratulated Siwa in the comments, including close friends James Charles and Colleen Ballinger, but it is not clear whether they know more than the rest of us.
In another video posted by TikToker Kent Boyd, Siwa dances Paramore’s “Ain’t It Fun” with members of Pride House LA, a home of inclusive influencers. “Now your [sic] one of us, ”Boyd captioned the video with a letter. Convincing evidence, but you don’t have to be gay to support LGBTQ + rights, play music or use rainbows. Who you are cannot be defined by what you wear or what your hobbies are, so leave the debutante party (and the record companies) for when JoJo Siwa herself says.
