Comedian John Mulaney showed signs of relapse during a bizarre skit he performed with Seth Meyers weeks before going into rehab, according to a new report.
The former writer for “Saturday Night Live” entered a rehab facility in Pennsylvania over the weekend, according to Page Six, after an alleged relapse consisting of alcohol and cocaine abuse.
The vehicle recalled a troubling skit that Mulaney presented with the evening presenter entitled “Royal Watch”, in which he criticized the departure of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as the oldest members of the British royal family. It shows Mulaney removing his sunglasses at one point, revealing “dark, cloudy eyes,” notes Page Six. The delivery of his jokes would also have been criticized by Meyers, who feared that the segment could not be broadcast on television.
“I love having you here, but in the future, if you just want to talk about things like that, a phone call might be better … We’ll see what we can use with that, but it could just be online,” he said, through the plug.

Mulaney reportedly agreed with Meyers, telling the presenter that his next segment “Royal Watch” would be “a little more focused”.
Now, sources tell Page Six that Mulaney was “crazy” with the substances while filming the sketch. A Mulaney representative did not immediately respond to Fox News’s request for comment.
Following his allegedly disturbing behavior, a source said that Mulaney trusted “SNL” creator Lorne Michaels and comedic colleague Pete Davidson, who supported him in rehab.
“Pete and Lorne have helped a lot,” said the source. “Mulaney is like an older brother to Pete and they always travel together.”
Mulaney has an “intimate circle of friends” on whom he is supported, who supported him with encouragement, the source said.

After learning of her entry into rehab this week, fans recalled her initial concerns about Mulaney’s well-being when the segment was posted on YouTube weeks ago.
“If you watched @sethmeyers recently, did you know something was going on”, one person wrote on twitter.
“He looked very strange in this segment and I was very confused, it was strange to see him like that, but it makes sense now, unfortunately,” another agreed.

A third person added: “He was getting a little shrunk, but I think 2020 has driven everyone crazy at some point.”
