Joe Exotic’s legal team says they are “disappointed” with former President Trump for not forgiving the “Tiger King” star as he continues to serve a 22-year prison sentence.
Trump issued more than 100 pardons and commutations on Wednesday morning as one of his last tasks in the White House before the inauguration ceremony of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Private investigator Eric Love, who is part of Exotic’s legal team, told Fox News that he is not guilty of his convicted crimes.
“140 million Joe Exotic fans had a hard time getting out of bed this morning. We are so disappointed that [Trump] didn’t sign Joe’s pardon because we were confident [Tuesday] that he would do. It’s just because of you, 140 million fans, that Joe’s Pardon was a possibility. Since his trial, the evidence has made it clear that Joe is not guilty, but a victim of the people he trusted most, “Love said in a statement.

The Exotic spokesman added that his team – “Team Tiger” – on Wednesday “spent two hours on the phone with Joe and listened to his oral arguments of direct appeal from Brandon Sample in Colorado.”
“We will not stop, we will not rest until Joe’s injustice is corrected,” Love swore.
On Tuesday night, Love expressed confidence that the “Tiger King” star would receive a pardon before the end of Trump’s four-year term. His legal team pulled up in a limo to the Texas prison where Exotic is being held for the chance to be pardoned, KFOR TV in Oklahoma City reported.

Exotic shared his own fury with Trump for ignoring his forgiveness. In a statement that he believes is his Twitter account, Exotic reportedly wrote: “I was too innocent and too GAY to deserve a forgiveness from Trump. I only mattered to Don Jr. when he needed to make a comment about me to boost his post on social media.”

In April 2019, Exotic was convicted and served a 22-year prison term for his role in a hired murder plot targeting Baskin. He was also convicted of killing five tigers, selling tiger cubs and falsifying wildlife records, but he maintained his innocence.

Online prison records seen by Fox News show that Exotic is currently housed at the Federal Medical Center Fort Worth and is due for release on July 30, 2037.
Fox News on Wednesday spoke to Exotic’s main rival, Carole Baskin, as documented in Netflix’s “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem & Madness” series. The founder of Big Cat Rescue said he found Trump’s contempt for Exotic relief.

“I’m taking a deep breath because I feel a sense of relief,” said Baskin. “From the moment he was sentenced, I have been concerned that there is a presidential pardon that could undo all the hard work that has been done to bring that person to justice. When today at noon a new president was installed, I I felt I was finally safe from that threat. “
Baskin added that she believes that Exotic “absolutely belongs behind bars.”
