Set in an Elven world 1,200 years before the world of The Witcher, Blood Origin will tell a story lost in time – the creation of the first Witcher prototype and the events that lead to the “conjunction of the spheres”, when the worlds of monsters, men and elves merge to become one.

Turner-Smith will play Éile, an elite warrior blessed with the voice of a goddess, who left her clan and position as guardian of the Queen to follow her heart as a nomadic musician. A great reckoning on the continent forces him to return to the path of the blade in his quest for revenge and redemption.

Declan de Barra serves as executive producer and showrunner for The Witcher: Blood Origin. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, creator of The magician mothership series, executive production. Andrzej Sapkowski, author of The magician series of books on which the Netflix program is based, acts as a creative consultant. Jason Brown and Sean Daniel of Hivemind and Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko of Platige Films are all executive producers.

The Witcher: Blood Origin is one of two developments in the hit Netflix series The magicianstarring Henry Cavill. The streamer also has an animated spinoff titled The Witcher: Nightmare Of The Wolf, focusing on the origin story of Geralt’s mentor and fellow Witcher Vesemir.

British actress Turner-Smith received many awards for her prominent role in cinema alongside Daniel Kaluuya in Queen & Thin, written by Lena Waithe and directed by Melina Matsoukas.

Next, Turner-Smith can be seen at the A24’s After Yang opposite Colin Farrell as well as Amazon’s Without remorse, with Michael B. Jordan. Both films will be released in 2021. Turner-Smith will also star as ‘Anne Boleyn’ in a three-part miniseries for the UK broadcaster, Channel 5.

This marks a return to Netflix for Turner-Smith, who starred in Streamer’s Nightflyers series, based on the novel by George RR Martin. His series credits also include Cinemax Jett, TNT’s The last ship, Amazon’s Crazy dogs and HBO’s True Blood.
