JK Simmons and Nina Arianda join Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem in Amazon Studios’ Being the Ricardos
Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem got two new co-stars in their Amazon Studios film, Being the Ricardos, with JK Simmons and Nina Arianda signing.
Kidman and Bardem will play I Love Lucy with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in the series, with Simmons and Arianda playing William Frawley and Vivian Vance, via Deadline.
Frawley and Vance played Fred Mertz and Ethel Mertz, neighbors of the Ball and Arnaz characters, Lucy and Ricky Ricardo, in the series, which lasted from 1951-1957.

The film takes place for a whole week of production on I Love Lucy, from Monday’s table read to Friday’s audience recording.
The plot follows Lucy and Desi as they face a ‘crisis that may end their careers and another that may end their marriage’.
Sources add that the Arianda deal has not yet been closed, with Kidman and Bardem in ‘final negotiations’.

Aaron Sorkin (The Chicago Trial 7) is directing his own script with the production of Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch.
Ball and Arnaz’s sons, Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr., are serving as executive producers with Jenna Block, David Bloomfield, Stuart Besser and Lauren Lohman.
There is no indication as to when the production of this new film will begin, or when Amazon Studios plans to release it.

He also stars in the upcoming TV series Invincible and The Tomorrow War, and is currently filming Seal Team.
