Former Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said on Sunday that he expects Americans to realize that Trump’s presidency was a “failed experiment”.
Johnson, who served as Homeland Security Secretary to former President Obama, told CNN’s “Fareed Zakaria GPS” that he thinks the story will not remember Trump’s presidency and “those who kindly supported it”, even if the Senate decide not to condemn Trump for inciting Riots in the Capitol earlier this month.
“Four years ago, we engaged in a very dangerous experiment by electing someone who was totally disqualified for the job, who had no moral or legal compass and frankly had impulses for fascism and autocracy,” said Johnson.
“My hope is that, over time, Americans will realize that this was a failed experiment and that we should never try again,” he continued. “Just look at the consequences of this for the past four years.
