Anything could happen tomorrow in South Florida. Eagles owner Jeff Lurie will meet with coach Doug Pederson to decide the future of the Eagles’ attack and the organization.
The Eagles’ biggest financial commitment is to Carson Wentz, who is expected to request an exchange because his relationship and trust with Pederson has been broken beyond repair. Therefore, this can influence any decision.
Pederson wants to promote Press Taylor as his offensive coordinator? Is this better for the Eagles? Is that the best way to train Wentz firmly? How about Duce Staley as an offensive coordinator? Would that be pleasant for everyone involved?
Will Pederson stand firm? Doug knows he can get another job.
If the Eagles are thinking of letting Pederson look for a new offensive game marker, could that game marker be a leader for men like Pederson?
There are many layers to be considered in these major decisions to come. Eagles seek a good plan and a good view for the attack. They have critical hiring decisions to be made in a timely manner. Even if they don’t have a lead technician survey, they have vacant positions as offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator and the squad will transition not only to 2021, but also to the future.
Pederson trained the Eagles for their first Super Bowl victory in the team’s history and is well liked. But feelings and accomplishments aside, Lurie will have to decide whether Pederson is the right person to lead the Eagles going forward.
