Jared Porter: The New York Mets dismisses the general manager after allegedly sending explicit photos to a reporter

ESPN reported that Porter sent unsolicited and explicit texts and photos “culminating in an image of an erect and naked penis” to the reporter when he worked for the Chicago Cubs as Professional Scouting Director and Special Assistant to the team.
Steven Cohen, owner of Mets tweeted Tuesday morning: “We fired Jared Porter this morning. At my initial press conference, I talked about the importance of integrity and I meant it. There must be zero tolerance for this type of behavior.”

ESPN said it obtained the messages and images in December 2017 and interviewed the reporter, but chose not to report the allegations at the time, after the woman said her career would be hindered if the story were released.

CNN is trying to contact Porter for comment.
