Is Emma Watson retiring? Star moving away from acting

Emma Watson seems to be taking a break from the movie screen.

The “Harry Potter” star, 30, is moving away from acting, the Daily Mail reported. Watson’s agent told the channel that she is “asleep” in her career and will not be taking on any new projects in the near future.

She is also looking to spend more time with alleged fiancé Leo Robinton. The couple has been dating since 2019.

Watson’s representative did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

Watson’s supposed hiatus occurs after a difficult road after his last film, Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of “Little Women”. Page Six reported in December 2019 that Watson refused to join his castmates – Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern, Timothée Chalamet and Meryl Streep – on the press tour and simply attended the film’s premiere.

“Emma’s representatives told Sony that she would only make the debut,” a source from the film told us at the time. “We don’t really know what happened, if she wasn’t happy with the movie or fell out with the cast.”

“Little Women” was nominated for five Oscars and won a costume.

Watson previously dated actor Chord Overstreet. The couple dropped out in May 2018. In October 2018, she was seen on a romantic getaway with technology CEO Brendan Wallace.
