Initial version of Zelda 64 discovered inside the F-Zero X development cartridge

Ocarina of Time

If you’re fascinated with compilations of classic games like Zelda: Ocarina of Time, so it might be worth reading about …

An initial beta version of Link’s iconic Nintendo 64 action and adventure title has been discovered. It is believed to be prior to Space World ’97 and was found in a development cartridge containing F-Zero X. This means that there is a lot of content (graphics and maps, to be precise) that was not included in the final release of Zelda 64.

The source – Forest of Illusion – made the map files for this building publicly available – in the hope, they will be able to be converted to a playable format (it looks like there has already been some success). It also clarifies that this is obviously not part of the Nintendo giga leak that dates back to last year.
