New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s twist on coronavirus blocks and regulations “makes it impossible for us to operate,” a New York bar owner told America’s Newsroom on Thursday.
As part of his annual State of the State address, the Democratic governor raised his eyebrows on Monday for denouncing the economic restrictions his own government imposed in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

“We simply cannot be closed until the vaccine reaches critical mass,” said Cuomo. “The cost is very high. We will have nothing else to open. We must reopen the economy, but we must do it intelligently and safely.”
Erin Bellard, owner of the E’s Bar restaurant on the Upper West Side, was not satisfied with the governor’s response.
“Your plan looks arbitrary and capricious at this point,” Bellard told co-host Sandra Smith. “It’s one thing to think about taking a quick test before going to a sporting event because you get that ticket three weeks in advance, and something completely different is thinking about taking a test before meeting your friend for a burger at the local pub . “

Cuomo, in his speech, also said that his state is receiving “basic justice” from DC, as President-elect Joe Biden is less than a week from entering the White House.
“With our new president, a new Senate and new members of the House, I believe they will do justice,” said Cuomo, adding, “If Washington tells New York to drop dead again, I would be shocked.”
The restaurant owner said it is “impossible” to operate the business without knowing which way the governor will turn.
“We are practically closed or severely restricted for more than 10 months at this point and the help we received in the form of EIDL and PPP loans, they should have a short time span, so the business takes on debts thinking that in a few months we can open up to be able to generate our own revenue, “she said.

She encouraged Congress to pass the Restaurant Act, a bill that would offer direct aid to establishments like hers affected by the pandemic.
