Illinois coach Bret Bielema hires former Wisconsin player as DL coach

In his first month in office, Illinois’ new football coach Bret Bielema is building his starting team as the Illini prepare for the 2021 season. His most recent signing came from Wisconsin connections. Bielema, of course, served as Wisconsin’s head coach from 2006 to 2012, and is bringing someone on board that he coached and coached in Madison.

The new Illinois defensive line coach will be Terrance Jamison, who comes from Purdue to Fighting Illini, where he held the same role. Jamison played in Wisconsin from 2005-2008, before serving as a student assistant, quality assistant and then graduate assistant for the Badgers until 2012. He holds two Wisconsin degrees – a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business administration ( 2009) and master’s degree in educational leadership and policy analysis (2011).

Jamison and Bielema will make their connection from Wisconsin to Champaign this fall.
